You wake up the next morning, a bit confused about where you are. Then you remember yesterday and Itachi. It's probably nice of him to help you and stuff, but mornings are cold outside. He could have at least helped you find a place to stay. You groan and roll over, still half asleep, only to find Itachi standing over you. At first you just lie there, not knowing what to do. Itachi really doesn't seem like the perverted type, but with those eyes being so emotionless and mysterious, who knows what can be going on behind them?

"Shouldn't you get dressed?" He asks blandly. You sit up and panic. Sure, Itachi had brought you things to wear last night, but now what were you going to do? You stop once you notice a fresh set of clothes beside you. No underwear though. You're starting to get desperate for some, but it's probably better that Itachi didn't bring them. You relax.

"Thank you Itachi-Sempai." You tell him. His expression doesn't change. "For this and yesterday." He leaves without another word. You take this as a sign that you should get changed. So, you hide yourself and this is what you do. You don't have long to wait after you're done.

"It's the weekend, _______." Itachi makes you jump at the sound of his voice and his sudden appearance. "Where will you stay now? It's wouldn't be safe for you to stay out another night." You know he's right. You're clueless about an answer yourself. He's still waiting though. You think you may as well ask him.

"Um, Itachi-Sempai. I was wondering... could you help me find a place to stay?" You question a little nervously. One look from those cold, pitch black eyes and you guess you already know the answer. Just then, he grabs you by the arm and starts dragging you down the street with you running along behind, trying to keep up with his stride. "Itachi-Sempai?" You look at him surprised.

"With you being so hopeless." He starts, not looking back. "It looks like I'm just going to have to get you somewhere to stay." It's hard for you to tell what he really means by this from the sound of his voice. He can't mean you can stay at his house. Can he? "Not with me." He goes on. Well, that throws your idea out the window. "At an acquaintance's." Now you're even more confused than before. Itachi has friends? That won't mind you staying over?... Well, he didn't exactly say they were friends.

The two of you stand outside a door, waiting for an answer. It isn't that long before another boy with long blonde hair half tied back in a ponytail opens the door. His hair droops over left eye. He really doesn't look like that much like a boy to you but you kind of just assume he is. "Uchiha." He states in a way that makes you almost sure he is a guy now.

"Deidara." Itachi replies. This must be the blonde's name. There's a pause here. You just stand there thinking it will probably be best not to say anything. "This is _______ _______." Itachi explains. "She needs somewhere to stay for a while."

"So you bring her here-Yeah?" Deidara asks. You don't know why he's answering himself in that way. He gets a smug smile across his face. "Uchiha, if you're going to go around picking up girls, you can't just go dumping them on me." Itachi does not look happy about what Deidara's suggesting. Yep, staying out of this is looking like a good idea right now.

"Deidara. I only thought it would be considerate of me to leave _______ with the most feminine out of us." Itachi tells him. Is that a hint of humour in his voice? Deidara's smile drops. Now you're starting to wonder if he is a girl again.

"What makes you think I want her here-Yeah?" Deidara demands defensively. "What makes you think I want you coming here either, Uchiha?!" At this point Deidara moves to slam the door shut on both of you, but Itachi quickly stops him. Deidara isn’t liking any of this.

"You live alone here in this big house, Deidara. I have only brought you some company." Itachi teases in his emotionless voice. Deidara really does look like he's getting sick of this. It's not like Itachi doesn't have a house.
"Fine-Yeah!" Deidara tells Itachi. "You can leave her here, just go-Yeah."

Once Itachi has left, Deidara lets you in, sulkily. It doesn't look like your time here is getting off to a good start. "Didn't you pack anything if you were going to stay over-Yeah?" He asks, noticing you only have your school bag. You think Itachi maybe could have explained things better. "What's your name again anyway-Yeah?" Not getting an answer to his first question, he asks another one.

"It's _______." You answer. "_______ _______. Um, I kind of couldn't really bring anything with me." You try to explain. "I'll just go out and get some stuff now..." You start to make your way to the door.

"What? Girl stuff?" Deidara asks making you stop dead in your tracks, feeling awkward. "How are you going to get that if you couldn't bring anything over in the first place-Yeah?" Well, Deidara's right, but what he had said before was very open of him. He walks over to you casually. "I'll go with you if you want-Yeah. I won't look at anything you buy." You like this offer, but when you try and thank him using the words Deidara-Sempai, because you have heard a little about him at school as well, he looks more annoyed than anything else. "Don't call me that-Yeah!" He tells you firmly. When you ask if Deidara-Chan would be okay; "That's even worse!" He shouts at you. Then it's settled that you should call him Deidara-Kun.

After that, you go out and get the stuff you need with Deidara. He doesn't look at any of it just like he said. He even pays for it for you because there's no way you would have been able to. He helps you carry it too.

"We should race the last part of the way-Yeah!" He suggests. So that's what you do, and it's fun. You start to think about how different Itachi and Deidara are. Then Deidara stops suddenly and you almost fall flat on your face trying to stop too, but Deidara puts his arm out to the side and knocks you backwards instead. You ask him what's wrong as you get up.

"Tobi." He answers solemnly. You follow his gaze to his house that's now in clear view. It looks like there's someone sitting outside. He's wearing a black cloak like the one you have seen on Itachi, staring at Deidara's door expectantly. You can't really see his face, so you can only tell by the way he's sitting. "Hey, _______." Deidara turns to you with a mischievous smile. "Let's go somewhere, just the two of us, and come back when he's gone-Yeah?"

Before you can say anything in response to this, "hi Deidara-Sempai!" The figure jumps up. He's wearing an orange mask, with only one of his eyes showing, and waving his arms vigorously. Deidara looks like he wishes he could be anywhere else but here right now. The new boy runs up to the two of you excitedly. "Deidara-Sempai! Tobi came over to your house! And you weren't there! So Tobi started waiting for you Deidara-Sempai! So we could play! Tobi is a good boy!" You don't know what to think of Tobi's reaction to seeing Deidara. He seems happy. Really happy.

"Go home Tobi-Yeah! People are going to think you're stalking me or something!" Deidara doesn't sound like he wants Tobi here. Tobi isn't listening though. Instead, he has noticed you and started to try to find out if you are going to be playing with them too. "Get away from her Tobi-Yeah! She's going to think you’re weird!" Deidara is now tugging Tobi away from you.

"But he came all this way to see you, Deidara-Kun..." You protest, taking Tobi's side. Even if you have only just met him, you don't want to separate the two of them if they're such good friends. "Maybe you could let him stay for a little bit?" You carry on, only to be hugged spontaneously by Tobi who has just escaped Deidara's grasp. You think that maybe he likes what you're saying. Deidara gives you a glare that looks like he wants to ask you if you know what you're saying.

"Okay, fine-Yeah." Deidara pouts at what he's just agreed to. "He can stay. But not for long; I've already got one free loader-Yeah!" You can tell by the way Deidara says this that he doesn't really mean it in a nasty way. He's just a little mad at you right now. All of that said and done, Deidara pulls Tobi off of you again.

"YaY! Tobi's going to Deidara-Sempai's house!" Tobi exclaims throwing his arms up into the air in an ecstatic looking mood. He pushes his face up close to yours. It's still under his mask. You're starting to wonder what you've let yourself in for. "Hi! I'm Tobi and Tobi is a good boy! What's your name?" He asks.

"That's _______ _______-Yeah!" Deidara states matter of factly. He has already left you back with Tobi. He's a few feet ahead of you both now. Tobi makes a mad dash after him, telling Deidara that he has left him behind. You catch up as well.
"_______-Chan is nice!" Tobi says as he turns to face you.

You all make it home safely. Then Deidara tries to make some dinner with Tobi constantly asking him pointless and obvious questions about it. Deidara ends up hitting Tobi, so then Tobi comes to talk to you instead and tell you about how he's a good boy and how Sempai is being mean to him. You start to understand why Deidara didn't want you calling him Sempai. "Food's ready-Yeah!" Deidara says, walking into the room. You, he and Tobi all sit down to eat. Tobi looks at the food.

"Deidara-Sempai, Tobi doesn't think he can eat this. It's too hot..." Tobi comments. You don't know how he knows this because he hasn't even taken his mask off, never mind tried anything. Deidara just ignores him and carries on eating his own food. You do the same. Tobi hadn't been talking to you anyway. This just means he tries to get attention. "Deidara-Sempai? Deidara-Sempai? Deidara-Sempai?!" you can tell Deidara's getting more irritated by the second. "..._______-Chan!" Tobi says loudly, giving up on Deidara. While doing this he leans over the table enthusiastically, knocking his food all over Deidara's lap, that was who he had insisted on sitting next to. Deidara makes a loud and agitated noise at this. "See Deidara-Sempai? Tobi told you it was too hot. Tobi is a good boy! ... Deidara-Sempai?"

"Tobi! Get out of my house now-Yeah!" Deidara demands, dragging Tobi towards the door. "And don't bother coming back!" Deidara shouts, throwing Tobi out onto the doorstep. You're just desperately trying to hide your laughter at the way these two are acting together. Luckily, Deidara doesn't notice as he sits back down, after making sure the door's firmly locked.

"Deidara-Sempai! The door won't open! Deidara-Sempai! Are you mad at Tobi? Deidara-Sempai! ... Tobi's a good boy!" And it goes on like this for a while. You can still hear Tobi even if he's outside. He's pressed himself up against the wall as close to where, he has guessed, you two are as he can get right now, much to Deidara's annoyance.

It's after dinner now and as far as you can tell, Tobi has left. It's gone quiet. Deidara and you are doing homework. It's for Art and Deidara looks really bored with it. He slams what he's writing with down on the table suddenly, making you look up from your work. "This isn't art- Yeah! Writing about what you've done and picking out every little detail. That's not art! _______, what do you think-Yeah?"

"Well, I don't like this either, Deidara-Kun. I'd rather be drawing, but you have to annotate it then so..." Deidara gives a short laugh. It doesn't look like either of you two are going to get the homework done at this rate.

"Drawing-Yeah?" Deidara starts, a confident smile on his face. He gets up. "Come with me _______! I'll show you what real art is!" That being said you're lead out of the house. Oh well, looks like the homework will just have to wait.

"What are we doing out here, Deidara-Kun? ... Tobi might find us again." You tell him and wait for your question to be answered. He doesn't answer exactly though, instead he makes a weird motion with his hand while saying something and a clay bird you hadn't noticed before suddenly grows huge behind him. You give a surprised look. You aren't sure how he's done this. "Is this your art Deidara-Kun? Wow, it's cool. I'm going back inside now, okay?" You start to walk the other way.

"This wasn't what I was going to show you!" Deidara tells you as though it's obvious. You face him now, waiting to see what he means by this. "Get on-Yeah!" He tells you, already on the giant bird himself. You give him a skeptical look as though asking if he really thinks that thing can fly. Well, it has wings and it's moving, so that convinces you.

"What now, Deidara-Kun?" You ask as the bird starts to take off into the air. You look even more surprised than before and Deidara notices, smiling at your expression.

"We're going to the school!" Deidara explains as you lean cautiously over the side of the bird, looking at the view below. You don't ask him why you're going there, with it being the weekend and dark right now. "We're here!-Yeah!" Deidara states, excitement in his voice.
"Now I'm going to show you my art!-Yeah!" Deidara tells you, before jumping off of the bird. You follow him. "We just have to wait a bit first-Yeah." Deidara adds, absently. You think to yourself that it must be really special art if he's building up to it. "Let's go find the art room!" Deidara says walking off. Well, it looks like you're going to get to see his art now. You go after him. It's starting to get late, so you think it will be best to get this over with.

"It's ready now-Yeah!" Deidara explains. Something falls out of Deidara's hand and crawls away. Wait... Deidara has mouths on his hands! You haven't seen something that scary since Itachi's eyes yesterday. You think it'll be rude to say anything though. That is until the something that you had thought was some sort of white clay, explodes, right where it had crawled off to: The Art room. You haven't really been thinking about it that much. It's a good thing you're both a safe distance away so that nobody gets hurt.
"Deidara-Kun! What did you do that for?!" You yell as fiery bits of people's artwork flutter around. It could be yours, it could be Deidara's, it could be anyone's. For all you know Deidara may have ruined all of it. Then you think of something else. "Deidara-Kun... what if there was somebody in there?"

"You worry too much-Yeah!" Deidara faces you looking very pleased with himself. "There wasn't anyone in there. This is what art is meant to be _______! A fleeting moment of beauty! Art is a bang!" You don't know how to react to this. You can't exactly yell at Deidara anymore, because he has just blown up part of the school and you could be next.

You have to admit now that you think about it, the explosion had been beautiful but only while it lasted. You still don't know how Deidara has done half of the stuff you’ve seen him do this night, but before you get the chance to ask, "_______." Deidara starts. "Let's watch the sparks fall to the floor. Before they disappear forever, let's enjoy the last moments of art-Yeah!" He says it so passionately, like he really lives for art. You decide you will sit there with him, on the roof of the school, and watch the embers until they die away.

You don't get long to do this though, because it's not that long before you hear the words Deidara dreads. "Deidara-Sempai!" Comes Tobi’s frantic voice. You both look over the side of the building to see him running around what’s left of the art room. "Help Deidara-Sempai! Tobi was following you and _______-Chan here! And then there was an explosion! Where are you Deidara-Sempai?! Don't be dead! Tobi’s helping! Tobi is a good boy!"

Deidara gets really mad at Tobi after hearing this. "He's ruined the moment!-Yeah!" He says in a frustrated way. "What's he doing following us here anyway?!" He grabs your arm and starts dragging you away. "Come on _______, let's leave Tobi here-Yeah! Let's go home." It makes you feel special hearing those words that Deidara says last. It makes you feel like he might not mind having you stay at his house quite as much as he first made out. You decide that you will try and find out more about him and Itachi, but that can wait. With that, the two of you fly off, leaving a desperate Tobi behind.

Superish preview for part three (^^')
Deidara: Damn. It's Sasori-Yeah. He's not going to like what I did. ______! If he asks, tell him... Tobi did it-Yeah!
Tobi: *Gasp* Deidara-Sempai...
And here's part two. This is where the story really took off and actually started getting a more solid plotline that ran into later chapters. Again, this was originally written in 2007/2008 so there was a lot yet to be revealed about the Akatsuki. I tried to keep people semi in character though (honestly I don't think Reader-Chan would have survived long at all if they were completely in character ^^; ) It was fun writing about Tobi and Deidara in this chapter, and later ones.
